ABOUT LIZ

From a young age, I've always been aware of my body. This awareness often brought joy and exhilaration, whether through dancing or playing in the water. However, there were also times when it was a source of deep pain, even violence, as I would scrutinize myself and punish my body for perceived disappointments. As I grew older, my perfectionism intensified, and the internal narratives became monotonous. Yet, through it all, a core knowing persisted—a glimmer of love, like hidden treasure catching a sunbeam through deep water, suggesting another way.

In my early twenties, I embarked on a healing journey that led me back to movement and yoga. Yoga teaches us that we are inherently worthy of love, especially our own. Regardless of our starting point, approaching ourselves with compassion and curiosity creates space for profound transformation. The gentler I became with myself, the stronger I felt. The harsh inner critic was silenced, replaced by a loving champion. Gradually, I faced challenges with confidence, made choices that built my capacity and fortitude, and discovered the incredible power that comes from listening to my inner wisdom. My self-trust blossomed, and I fell in love with the process of learning and caring for myself and my body. This relationship is my first and most enduring; my body is my home, and I am devoted to it.

I began teaching yoga in 2015, and my style has evolved significantly since then. My classes are designed to be intelligent and intentional, engaging both the physical and intellectual aspects of being. I am passionate about sharing knowledge regarding the awesome functionality of the human body, our inherent capacity for grace and growth, and our deep interconnectedness within the fabric of nature. I've witnessed countless times how mindful movement can be transformative, not just physically but holistically. I've personally experienced this profound impact through my own encounters with illness, injury, and life transitions, and it continues to enrich my life beyond rehabilitation and therapy.

At heart, I am a teacher, and I am invigorated by the "lightbulb moments" my clients experience. My ultimate goal is to empower you with knowledge, helping you to understand your body from the inside out. This deeper understanding provides an opportunity to connect more profoundly with yourself through bodily experiences and exploration. My work has affirmed my belief in the impact of whole-person health and its intersection with the well-being of our Earth collective. The more curiosity and compassion we cultivate within ourselves, the more we can extend and offer outward, fostering inclusion and healing divides.

Beyond the studio, I find joy in curating my life with beauty. I love creating with my hands, nurturing plants, arranging flowers, staying close to local food, and continually learning new skills. I share my home with beloved pets, have a close family, and cherish my amazing friends. I adore living near the water and exploring distant shores. While I always relish the sweetness of returning home, I've come to realize that wherever I am, I am home, because I am home in my body. The deeper I connect within, the further and more fully I can venture out, in every way. My sincere wish is the same for you.
